Our mission at the North Texas Reptile Rescue is to provide a safe haven for all surrendered reptiles, offering compassionate care and rehabilitation for those in need. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, we are dedicated to accepting medical cases and diligently working to restore health and well-being before finding each of them the perfect home. With a commitment to excellence and a team of dedicated volunteers, we strive to educate the community and promote responsible exotic pet ownership while ensuring the welfare of every animal in our care.
We are a group committed to helping unite animals in need with their loving forever families and everything it entails.

Hello! My name is Susan, and I am our Parliamentarian, over our Rules and Ethics, Head of Fosters, Adoption Coordinator, and on our Fundraising Committee. Although I live elsewhere, I am so happy to be a part of this team! To reach me for inquiries about fostering or adopting one of our animals, you can email, text me, or reach out to me on messenger, and I will get back to you as soon as I can!
Hi! It's Beth, and if you had told me three years ago that I would be as in love with reptiles as I am, I would have laughed! My oldest child wants to be a herpetologist, and my youngest a zoologist, so when my kids asked for a reptile, we agreed to foster it, but that quickly failed. She helped my love for reptiles blossom!
I can’t wait to help this rescue and see how quickly it blossoms! Thanks for welcoming me into the family NTRR.
Hi, I’m Shannon, a board member for NTRR. I absolutely fell into the role of fostering bearded dragons (I had no clue what I was doing😂), and now here I am on the board for a rescue started by some amazing, huge-hearted women! I am Co-Head of Fosters, doing inventory documentation and on the fundraising committee. I'm happy to be here!

I am honored to be the Snake Adoption & Foster Coordinator with the rescue! My fiancé and I live in Mckinney with our daughter and a family of 2 dogs, 2 fish, and several reptiles 💕 I am also a Secondary Education teacher that had previously never imagined the excitement of being in this program!
My journey with NTRR began in 2022 when my daughter (after two years of begging, researching, and saving up her funds to purchase a Ball Python) forced me to have the courage to look into owning a reptile! 🙈 A friend of mine brought her reptiles to us to experience and after I got comfortable, she recommended me to the rescue ❤️ ! Soon after reaching out, I was at a board member’s home to be educated ! Immediately impressed with this organization’s passion and love for reptiles, I was actually excited about being taught about ball pythons myself and not just for my daughter’s experience! After a couple of meetings, a board member found our perfect match with our very first ball python!
Ever since our first addition to our family, the rescue has continued to guide us in caring for a variety of reptiles and later stoked our passion to foster animals so that we could share our experience to help other families meet and prepare for their perfect match!
In my second year with the rescue, I’m beyond excited to help more reptiles find their forever homes ! While I love all the reptiles that come through our doors, my first loves are the “noodles” that I myself didn’t initially realize the elegance of! Giving these beautiful creatures another chance at a happy and healthy life by sharing them with willing families that are honored to devotedly care for their snake is a true joy that I look forward to being a part of!!

I met Michelle about two years ago when a mutual friend connected us because my own bearded dragon was sick. 😞 Michelle was an amazing support to me during this time. We hit it off and stayed in touch. Whenever I came across someone needing help with their bearded dragon, I would steer them toward Michelle, even back when she was with McKinney. A few months later, Michelle and I were able to work together with two other people in a successful rescue mission that spanned a large area of Texas. ⭐️ Through this experience I met Susan Danziger, who happens to be our amazing adoption and foster coordinator, and one of my best friends! 🤩
During this time, my vet would periodically send people to me who needed guidance with their dragon husbandry and care, perhaps a person needing to rehome or surrender their dragon, etc. and I began doing small rescue on my own. One day I asked Michelle what the process was to become a “legit” rescue. She was kind enough to explain the answer to my question, and then she invited me to join her rescue! I didn’t possibly know how that would work, as I am in San Antonio. However, Michelle said she had people drive to her from down south all the time. I thought about our conversation for a few months, and then decided to accept. So now here I am, manning South/Central Texas rescues. 🥰
Through the rescue, I’ve found that I have a heart for injured, sick, or special needs animals. I am incredibly lucky to have Michelle, not only as one of my best friends, but also as an amazing mentor when it comes to caring for the critically ill. I’ve been able to learn so much from her! ☺️ I am also incredibly lucky to have an amazing veterinarian who explains patiently and teaches me a lot!
My favorite part of rescue is seeing the light come back into an animal’s eyes when they begin to feel healthy again, and they understand that they are safe. 🥹♥️
Thank you so much to everyone for supporting our rescue! Thank you for allowing us to do what we love to do, and to make a positive change for these animal’s lives. 🤗

I have worked on staff at the Dallas zoo, and volunteer there as much as I am able. I am on the volunteer council . And We are president’s circle members and have been for years. A bit back I took the classes for wildlife rehabber on opossums and raccoons, I have worked with the opossums under my “subber” for a while, and will soon be starting on raccoons. The achievement of which I am most proud is that I am on the board of the North Texas Reptile Rescue. I married my wonderful Husband Dave almost 14 years ago. I have two wonderful sons from a previous marriage. I believe it was three years-ish ago a mutual friend told me about the rescue. I had taken care of a bearded dragon at work and simply fell in love with her. I wanted one of my own. Strange thing happened. You see, I have autism. And my brain is very busy doing all the things it does and it is almost never quiet. So many thoughts so little time, but I noticed when I was with my dragon it was peaceful in my head. And then I wanted a snake..and it ballooned out from there. And my dear husband has fallen head over heels in love with the reptiles as well. He has his own even. I hesitate to say how many we have, because we have so many. But know that this is what I do for a living, I was trained and educated in this. All are safe, happy and loved. As are all of the animals in this rescue. Unless you see first hand your family of friends crying over a tiny little soul that is struggling to live. And they just do not give up! This Rescue has brought us the love of these beautiful babies, and the love of the adopters, surrenderers, and board members. I have never yet seen an organization make such an impact in so many lives. We are honored to serve with all of the members.. I jokingly call us the sisterhood of the traveling snakes. I owe these people so much.Is this ok: Dia Duit! That is an Irish hello. My name is Hazel Greene but I prefer Scrappy.
