Smaller Snake Adoption Process

Initial Contact

During this initial contact, we discuss what you’re looking for and pick which animal you’d like to adopt! Most of our availables are posted on our website and the Facebook albums.

Remember from the start that you are not in this alone; we are here to help you and to make this adoption successful!

Getting Set Up

Based on the animal you've chosen, its size, and its needs, the adoption coordinator will help you set up your enclosure and get it approved by our board. We also request that feeders be purchased for approval. A shopping list will be available soon.

Adoption Contract

At this time, you will fill out the adoption contract that the coordinator will send to you.

Payment

At this point after you return the contract, you’ll pay adoption fee near the listed payment method on our form. Normal ball pythons are $50. Other Ball python morphs are $150. Milks are $75. Corn snakes, king snakes, and most other Snakes are $150.

Pick-up and Follow-up

Once all is approved, we’ll coordinate a pickup time and location, and then we’ll be able to release the animal to you!

You’ll just need a carrier! We recommend locking tubs with holes drilled in and request that they be lined with paper towels.

Once your new family member is home, we do want to hear from you on how everything is going, are there any issues, do you have questions, or just positive updates.  We consider you part of the family, and we love getting updates!

Maui is a gorgeous, large snake with rich brown coloring and beautiful markings. Because of their impressive size, Maui will need a minimum 4x2x2 enclosure with extra-large hides and a large water bowl to stay comfortable.

Currently, Maui eats a medium frozen-thawed rat every two weeks. This routine keeps them healthy and satisfied.

Maui can be a little shy at times and often enjoys relaxing in the hides, but they also like to explore the enclosure during the day. With regular handling and a bit of confidence building—such as being taken out a few times a week—Maui continues to do very well with interaction.

Overall, Maui would make a wonderful addition to a home looking for a thick, sturdy snake with a sweet, calm temperament and striking appearance.

After taking a short break from eating, Bones is now back to being a great eater and enjoys small frozen-thawed rats as his preferred meal.

He is calm and easygoing, doing well with handling and happy to hang out from time to time. Bones would do well in a minimum 40-gallon front-opening enclosure, with plans to upgrade to a 4x2x2 as he grows.

If you’re looking for a gentle, docile snake with a sweet personality and charming appearance, Bones would make a wonderful addition to your family.

With their beautiful coloration, calm nature, and engaging personality, Abel would make a wonderful companion for anyone looking for a loving and interactive snake.

Asher is a wonderful young ball python who will be such a joy to grow up with—watching them go from a small noodle to a larger one over time. They have a rich dark chocolate color with beautiful markings that make them stand out.

Asher can be a little shy at first, but with a minute or two to settle, they begin to explore and show off their adorable tongue flicks as they get to know their surroundings.

With consistent, gentle handling, Asher will become more confident and enjoy spending time out of the enclosure to hang out or explore.

They are currently eating frozen-thawed weaned rats and will eventually move up to frozen-thawed small rats as they grow.

Asher would do well in a 40-gallon front-opening enclosure to start, but will need an upgrade to a 4x2x2 as they mature. Their space should include plenty of enrichment such as fake plants, branches, and hides to keep them active and mentally stimulated.

Asher would make a wonderful companion for anyone looking for a sweet, growing snake to share the journey with.

Bama has a strong feeding response, so their foster is working on tap training to help them learn the difference between feeding time and handling time. They currently eat ASF hoppers and will soon be transitioning to frozen-thawed small rats.

Because of their strong feeding response, Bama would do best in a home with older children who can understand and respect proper handling techniques.

They’re on the smaller side and likely won’t grow to be a very large snake, making them an excellent choice for someone looking for a more compact reptile with lots of personality.

Juvenile,

Betty Boop is a funny and spirited snake with a big personality. They like to put on a show by hissing loudly, thinking it might get them out of handling—but a confident handler will see right through the act. Once out of the enclosure, Betty Boop proves to be a wonderful snake who handles well and settles in nicely.

Betty Boop has an excellent feeding response and was recently moved up to small frozen-thawed rats. They have no trouble with striking, constricting, or eating and are growing well. As they continue to grow, they’ll need an enclosure upgrade to give them plenty of space to thrive.

Betty Boop would do best with an experienced snake handler who won’t be startled by their dramatic hissing. With time and patience, this bold snake’s true, sweet nature shines through—making them a great companion for the right family.

While they may be shy at first and is still adjusting to being comfortable with handling outside of the enclosure, they are not defensive at all. Due to the timid nature it is recommended that Tyra be adopted into a home with no young children and calm patient handlers who can help build that confidence to truly be happy out of their enclosure.

Tyra will need a 50 gallon front opening enclosure at minimum to fully stretch out and thrive.

They will also need plenty of enrichment to keep them mentally stimulated and happy! This includes hides, branches, clutter, maybe even some climbing opportunities.

Tyra is used to eating frozen thawed small rats about every 10 days and hasn’t had any issues with feeding time. As long as the rat is nice and toasty they will be ready to chow down!

Tyra is ready to find a permanent home that will love them forever.

At nearly 1,400 grams this rich chocolate beauty will need a large enclosure to allow them to fully stretch out and thrive!

Sushi is still building confidence with being handled. Although they are not defensive they can be shy when interacting with people so a patient owner that will build trust with short but frequent handling sessions is key.

Sushi is used to eating a toasty hot frozen thawed small rat every 10 days and usually has no issues! Sushi loves to explore and climb in the enclosure so plant clutter and branches are key to a happy noodle!

Sushi has a calm demeanor that would make them a good addition to any household free of young children.

Kanoa is a large snake ,so they will need a 4x2x2 enclosure with ample enrichment, hides, and clutter to keep them feeling safe and secure.

While Kanoa is a physically gorgeous snake, their personality is a bit more uneasy. Kanoa doesn’t have a lot of trust in people, so they can be somewhat shy and defensive when made uncomfortable.

They prefer to spend most of their time in the comfort of their enclosure. An experienced snake keeper, over time, can build a trust with Kanoa to teach them that there is a good side to being handled.

Because of this, Kanoa should be in a home with no young children and an experienced snake owner.

Kanoa is a great eater and has no issues taking small frozen thawed rats.

This snake will require a little extra effort from their new owner but it will be the most rewarding feeling once they accept you!

Bill Nye is a hefty, beautifully colored snake with striking markings that make them truly stand out. They are calm, docile, and love exploring their surroundings when given the chance.

Named after the Egyptian God of Death, this striking noodle has a fiery spirit and will need an experienced handler who understands how to work patiently with defensive snakes. While Anubis can be a bit reactive and may strike when uncomfortable, time, consistency, and gentle handling will help build confidence and trust.

Previously, Anubis was fed only small mice, which caused some stunting in growth, but they are now consistently eating rat pups and making great progress. Their future adopter should be comfortable safely sizing up feedings as Anubis continues to grow and gain strength.

A 40-gallon front-opening enclosure with plenty of leafy clutter and hides will help Anubis feel secure. They currently prefer staying in the enclosure where they feel safe, but they’re slowly getting used to short, positive handling sessions a few times a week.

Anubis would make a rewarding companion for an experienced, patient adopter who enjoys helping a snake gain confidence and thrive through care and dedication.

Gentle, consistent interaction will go a long way in helping Aspen feel secure and comfortable.

A 50-gallon front-opening enclosure or a 4x2x2 setup would be ideal, providing plenty of space for Aspen to stretch, explore, and thrive. Their home should include lots of enrichment, as well as low-level UVB and lighting to accommodate their light sensitivity.

Atlas prefers spending their time in the safety of a nice big enclosure, at least a 4x2x2 with plenty of substrate for burrowing, branches to climb on, hides to curl up in, and space to stretch out.

While they can be taken out of the enclosure and handled for short periods, their species isn’t the most snuggly. So they make a better pet that you observe and safely interact with, rather than take out and spend lots of time hanging out outside of the enclosure.

This noodle while sometimes maybe a little sour, has an occasional sweet side. Like everyone’s favorite sour patch kid this cutie is ready to find a family of their own. Experienced adopters preferred for this noodle specifically.

They may still accidentally give a chomp when they think more food is coming so that is something that will need to be worked on. A consistent feeding schedule and feeding tongs will help with this issue.

Prince is ready to find their perfect kingdom to call home!

Harley Q is a gorgeous Milk Snake with their red, black and cream coloration.

Their personality is very inquisitive and curious, constantly investigating every inch of space in their enclosure. Because of their quick natures they are still getting used to handling so a confident owner and short bursts of handling are key in building a trust with Harley.

They will need a minimum 20 gallon front opening enclosure with several inches of substrate to burrow, as well as branches for climbing and plants/clutter to keep them engaged. As they get bigger they will need to have their enclosure upgraded as a 20 gallon is a minimum stating size.

Harley Q is currently eating a small frozen thawed fuzzy mouse weekly but as they mature and get larger they will need to be slowly sized up on feeders.

Harley Q is looking for a patient and dedicated owner to allow them to truly thrive and be apart of the family!
